Coaching & Mentoring

Coaching & Mentoring
For information on our Open ILM Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate & Diploma Programme in Coaching & Mentoring please scroll down.

We have been providing Executive Coaching for 20 years – having coached executives across all sectors. Our coaches work with their clients in a collaborative, equal partnership to facilitate sustainable change and development.

We bring our knowledge, understanding and expertise to the coaching relationship yet we are highly sensitive about when we choose to facilitate the executive client to draw on their own knowledge and wisdom, and when we choose to input our perspective or ideas.

We are increasingly being requested by our clients to support them in developing a coaching culture in their organisation. We do so by thinking systemically; integrating our strategic organisation development expertise.

Nowhere in the Organisation Effectiveness and Development field is the individual competence of the person you chose to work with more critical. That’s why, here at Taylor Clarke, certification in Executive Coaching is so essential. All of our 30 coaches have worked at senior levels in organisations, and are members of a recognised professional coaching body. Taylor Clarke has organisational membership of the Association for Coaching, and all of our Coaches abide by the AC’s Code of Ethics and Practice. Please refer to our Coach Profiles to view the particular influences and areas of knowledge that each Coach brings.

We also provide a range of accredited coaching training programmes at different levels; partnering with the Institute of Leadership and Management. We also supervise Executive Coaches. Please contact Wendy Robinson for more information.

Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring

Past participants have included OD Directors, Heads of Leadership Development, and HR and L&D Managers, as well as external Executive Coaches. The programme has received accolades for:

  • The way in which leadership development is reviewed and critiqued for senior level leaders
  • The support given to coaches to critically review their own practice and their ‘evidence base’ for their professional practice, and
  • The practical element, whereby coaches are observed in their coaching practice, and given tutor and peer feedback
  • The personalized nature of the learning; our class sizes have a maximum of 10 coaches
  • The exchange of coaching experiences and learning between internal and external coaches

The programme consists of:

  • Two 2-day Workshops: at our central Glasgow training venue; 9-5 each day
  • 1-1 supervision sessions, timed to support the coaching practice (please ask for further details on the number of supervision sessions – these vary depending on which qualification you undertake)
  • Two written assignments, supported by tutorials; the first one is a critical review of executive coaching, the second one asks the coach to reflect on their style, approach and strengths as a coach, as they reflect on their practice coaching hours
  • Peer group meetings; these are formed during the Workshops, and each group schedules its own meetings (face-to-face or by skype)
  • Online discussions

The Course Tutor, Wendy Robinson, meets each coach prior to enrolment on the programme, to ensure the programme is right for you, and to answer any queries you have.  The qualifications are awarded by ILM at Level 7 – postgraduate equivalent.
