Our People - Full-Time Principal Consultants
Full-time Principal Consultants are employed by Taylor Clarke and are shareholders who demonstrate a wide range of appropriate skills and at least one specialism. They have a minimum of 5 years experience in our areas of work and have an additional minimum of 5 years experience as a senior manager, psychologist or human resource specialist. They are involved in all aspects of the business, attend monthly development meetings and share our company values. All Principals have worked regularly with Taylor Clarke, shadowed and have a thorough understanding of our core business models, delivery methods and current leadership thinking.
Laurence Clarke, (BSc, MBA, MCIM, MIMgt) - Managing Director & Principal Consultant
Combining extensive experience as a hands on manager and an academic, Laurence brings a unique blend of experience, knowledge and expertise to bear on his consultancy interventions. He works primarily with senior management groups and individuals and is committed to effecting major positive change in organisations and people through strategy and leadership development, 1:1 coaching and facilitation. Laurence uses a creative problem solving style and has successfully developed a number of large scale interventions tailored to meet clients’ business needs.
Sarah Ballantyne, (BA Hons (Cantab), MCIPD) - F/T Principal Consultant
Sarah a former Principal Associate Consultant joined Taylor Clarke as a Full Time Consultant on 3 November 2008.
Sarah is a highly experienced and very capable professional with over 15 years of blue chip experience in a variety of Human Resource management and internal consultancy roles. She is used to working with managers to develop and implement practical solutions to a range of key business issues such as absence management, development and change management. She is highly organised and pays close attention to detail however her breadth of knowledge and relaxed style, allow her to be flexible as required depending on the needs of the clients she is working with.
Robin Tait, (BA Hons, PG Dip, MBA, FCIPD) - Director & Principal Consultant
Robin has been involved in change management, leadership development and team effectiveness with managers and staff in a variety of organisations, including the Department for Work and Pensions, Glenmorangie plc, Wood Group and the Scottish Prison Service for several years. He is a former academic who has carried out major surveys on training and training costs for the oil industry and researched, and published, in the areas of employee motivation and involvement. He is currently working on a major change management project for First Engineering, an internal consultancy skills programme for the DWP and major leadership programmes for Wood Group (in the USA, Middle East and UK).
Alistair Brown, (BA, MBA) - Principal Consultant
Alistair moved into consultancy after a successful career in business. Starting out in marketing, Alistair progressed his career through a series of increasingly senior positions up to MD level in a number of sizeable (£25m T/O) FMCG businesses. His experience of managing major post acquisition change in these companies led to a move into strategic change management consultancy where he has worked with major clients as diverse as Nokia, British Gas, Standard Life, Edinburgh City Council and the NHS. Alistair has led the development of the Taylor Clarke change methodology. Alistair brings a real commercial awareness, practical outlook and desire for results to all his interventions, which coupled with his facilitation skills and wealth of experience make him a highly effective consultant.
Wendy Robinson, (BSc, MSc Applied Psychology, CPsychol (Occ)) - Principal Consultant
Wendy is a Principal Consultant with Taylor Clarke and has been with the organisation since 2000, firstly as an associate, and since 2005, as an employed consultant. She divides her time between designing and running leadership development programmes and various tailored management development initiatives, 1-1 coaching, and team facilitation. She also helps to support Taylor Clarke’s large group of associate consultants. She has worked in The United States and in Nigeria. Her clients include The Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Wood Group PLC, Total Oil, The National Museums of Scotland, DSM, Includem, the NHS, MDDUS and The Fifth Business.
