Mission & Values
Taylor Clarke's mission is:
"to release the potential in people,
to make a difference and to practise what we preach"
Vision
To create successful Visionary Organisations by inspiring managers to make work an exciting, fulfilling, challenging and productive place to be, a place that people want to belong to, and grow within, through being involved.
Values
We operate by a set of values, which are shared by all Taylor Clarke consultants. Through working according to our values, we build strong, open relationships that last due to our genuine concern for the development of your people and your organisation.
Care
- We care about the individuals we are working with;
- As facilitator or coach, we bring our human-ness to our contact with the individual;
- We care about the success and continual improvement of the organisation, of which the individual or group is a member.
Development
- We are committed to the individual's development;
- We believe everyone has as-yet untapped potential regardless of the competence evidenced to date;
- We will balance the amount of support and the amount of challenge we give individuals or groups;
- We believe we will develop through our work with individuals and groups.
Excellence
- We expect the highest standards of ourselves as facilitators and coaches; we bring individual expertise as well as adhering to common Taylor Clarke standards;
- We believe we learn, as much through our own professional supervision and ongoing CPD as facilitators and coaches as we do through studying of the latest academic writings - however, we also keep up to speed on these;
- We account for the complexity of the organisational system, in which the individuals are key players, and support them in achieving excellence within their organisation.
Ethical
- We will be honest in our work with individuals and groups; this may be easy to do or it may be challenging for both parties; we acknowledge that perhaps the more challenging it is, the more learning and development there will be;
- We won't pretend to know something we don't;
- We are up-front about ethical dilemmas in facilitation and coaching, and use these as critical learning experiences, worked through with integrity;
- We won't go beyond our level of competence in working alongside an individual or group;
- We clearly agree confidentiality boundaries for the benefit of the organisation and the individual or group; we tailor the confidentiality agreement for each intervention, dependent on the organisation's objectives and the individual's or group's; once agreed, we will only deviate from this if unforeseen situations arise and re-contracting is required;
- We adhere to the European Mentoring and Coaching Council's Code of Ethics and our individual professional body's code.
Collaboration
- We work collaboratively with the organisational sponsor, and individual or group, to clarify the goals of the intervention, and to jointly diagnose in the early stages of the development relationship;
- We work alongside the individual or group, through dilemmas, challenges and successes;
- We partner with the organisation to provide the optimum programme interventions and resolutions to issues which arise;
- We review success with the individual or group and with the organisational sponsor.
Success
- We aim for success - demonstrable success - in all that we do.
- In facilitation and coaching, success is defined as achieving or surpassing the goals as articulated in the development contract (organisational and individual or group).
- We seek hard outcomes - tangible signs of development; for example, surpassing corporate targets, significantly improved 360° ratings, etc.
- Success is seen at the personal, team, and organisational level.
- We like to measure successes: we discuss how change will be measured for the individual or group at the outset and review these measures regularly.
